If you still have the stock cat on there, remove it and replace it with a new aftermarket cat at once. The stock thirdgen cats suck and have been proven to be a significant restriction. However, the new aftermarket cats flow really well and you will not lose more than a couple horsepower, if at all.

Gutting your cat, or running with no cat, is a federal offense punishable by jail time and/or a fine, I think up to $10,000.

I currently have no cat...thanks to the previous owner. I want to get one...b/c it is too damn hard to pass NY state emissions tests w/o one. Now what is a good brand of Cats...I want a high flow high performance Cat. I might just get a new cat...along with the Flowmaster american thunder 80 series. At a local Speed shop they are going to sell me the Flowmaster muffler for $90 and a high flow cat for $99. Then I will have to go to mieneke and have them run thier pipes...since that is the only way to do it around here. So is $99 too much? How would the 80 series american thunder sound? I have no hedders...and do not plan to install any as of now...but possibly in the future. Will my car still sound good? I have a 350 4 bolt. Thanks.

James
