What is the differance in exhaust from 85 to 86?
I have been looking for new exhaust for my 84 Z28 with a single cat and have not seen many Cat-Back systems for my car. It was origionaly equipted with the 305 LG4 (non-HO), the Y-pipe (which truly is not a Y pipe) is nothing more than two pipes from the manifolds welded togeather at a 'T', and there are no bolts on my whole system, everything is clamped and/or welded.
I am looking at the MAC Cat-Back for 86-92 and I am wondering if I could get it to fit if I cut the pipe.
Any help would be great,
Matt

Yes, any exhaust made for any thirdgen will work with any other thirdgen. The reason why they show it for 86-92 thirdgens is because they use a slip-on connector from the cat to the I-pipe. The previous years were bolt-on cats.
