3" slip to 3" tes weld??? right???

ok heres a question..might be dumb.....the edelbrock tes( EDL-6872) has a 3" connection to cat...now if i get a slip on 3" cat(CTO-6007) that means i cant slip the cat onto the y-pipe that came with the headers..because they are both 3" right...well my car is torn apart in the garage for the winter..i dont have access to a welder...is there a way around this without restriction..or ..is the cat just a little smaller to "slip on" to a 3" connection...

thanx

Just take the cat to an exhaust shop and have them flare out the end of it so it will slip in, give them 20 bucks or something.

A slip on converter will slip on to the TES Header system no problem as the TES Y-pipe will be flared out so it will slip over the converter as long as it is a 3" inlet on the converter.

Actually, the cat will be the piece that should have the flare on it. My direct fit Catco from summit was already flared to fit over the end of the y-pipe. But, if you have one that is not flared, just take it to an exhaust shop and have them flare the cat for you.
