why are headers for F-bodies so expensive? My dad has a mustang and when i know his headers cost him less than $200. What is so different about the headers for our cars that makes them cost triple the price?

You probably saw them on this Group Purchase page:
https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/...ML/002843.html

If not, hopefully that price is cheaper for you.

Are those Mustang headers emissions-legal? There are several non-emissions headers for our cars that cost like $100, and they last about that long too. Mustang parts sometimes cost less because there are more people buying them. More demand means the manufacturer will sell more so he can lower his price and still make a profit.

Mustang headers don't have air tubes to be smog legal and don't come with an H pipe. Ours have air tubes and come with Y pipes. The added parts and cost to build add onto our price.
