Go w/ a Cat or no??

Once i get my camaro (thursday) i think the first thing I wanna do is put on some hooker super comp headers and i was debating to either:
a) go straight back (3" dia maybe?) with no cat or muffler or
b) get a hooker cat back

which would be the best way to go, and would i notice any performance gain over the other?? (im not sure of the specifics but its a 350 bored .030 over)... I'm guessing that with the straight back it'd be able to flow better, but i dunno if it's as simple as that

go with the cat.

get a hi-flow cat or two for dual cat set up, added 20hp (from a one-cat setup) to stock 91 305s. Car-sound and catco are good.

Your car won't stink like exhaust and it doesn't rob much power at all. I have a Shelby Cobra replica that is just awesome. It has headers feeding right into sidepipes. Love the car, but you do stink after driving it.

Don't decide to use a cat or not for the sake of power. Just use a new one. The power loss is minimal. I'd only do it for the sake of sound.

ok, point taken I still gotta get the car and see what kind of set up he has...

Now if i do go with a dual (or single) cat setup, should I have a shop just do straight back from there, or should i purchase a cat-back from hooker?? Thanks for the help

I'm thinking a normal exhaust shop won't use mandrel bent pipes.. it's not THAT big of a deal, but it's something.. I'd probably go with something a little smoother from an aftermarket company..
