I currently have a 80 series flowmaster on my car. I am considering buying the hooker cat-back system. Will I notice a difference? How does it sound?

 

well do u have a flowmaster catback or just a muffler, if u have just a muffler, then any catback is going to sound better over that stock intermediate pipe. however hooker mufflers will probably flow better then flowmaster mufflers, but might not give u that loud low rumble that you will get from flowmaster, but then again i have never used hooker. and headers, y-pipe and gutted cat always help with sound also.

I love my Hooker. At idle it's a nice low rumble, but when you get on it, it's awesome. There is a sound clip on this board somewhere.

Thanks. It is just a muffler that I have right now. I was also thinking about gutting the cats,but i am kind of skeptical about this. They are supposed to start checking the exhaust sometime soon. I recently replced my cats so to gut them now then have to buy new ones whenever they start checkin would be a waste of money.
