Emissions Legal HSCLT headers?!?!

Ok so I know SLP makes the best shorty emissions legal headers or so most people say, some say hooker shorties are better so toss up right both very good both have good/bad points ...... anyways, my point can you take air tubes and drill/weld them onto a set of hooker super comp long tube headers to make them legal as well???

Everyone say that HSCLT are the best you can get but im in a very emission tight area, only mirror for cat and sniffer but the sniffer is set to screw all cars older then 92. So I was thinking best of both with LT headers and air to keep them legal .... unless I could get away without air with some prom tweeking (gonna get into that **** very very soon) any help would be great.

Sorry for long post.

That would depend on your local emission laws.

What I can tell you is that here in Ca. it would not be legal, even though it would function correctly.

No one has ever tried this and wants to share???????

someone must have to deal with the sniffer and wanted better headers ....???

All I need to know is that it will function so that I can pass the sniffer (as 8Mike9 said)and of course how hard would it be???

You can use LT headers without airtubes and still pass the sniffer as long as the car is warmed up when you take it through. Only thing that will cause you to fail is a visual inspection of the engine bay which has never happened to me in our area.
