92 Camaro 5.7 350 TPI: Which Headers??

I own a 1992 Camaro Z28 with the stock 5.7liter 350 TPI Engine. I am interested in purchasing
header for it sometime. With SO many different choices, I personally have absolutely NO IDEA
what to get or look for.

There are so many mixed reviews with each company that where on earth does one start? I was
looking at edelbrock however they say you must CUT THEM??

What headers do I get? I assume no matter which ones you get, they RUST/Corrode anyways in a
couple days so there is no point getting chrome plated ones. Simply a waste of money.

With my dual cat system, how much HP would this give me? I was told headers give you a bit
better growl with my 80 series flowmaster, true?

Any help would be very much appreciated. We can get KILLER deals on parts and labor so that
really isn't TOO much of an issue. The main problem is finding out WHICH headers to get.

https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/...ML/002680.html shows a LOWER rating for
Edelbrock due to small size?

Couple days ago we had the entire exhaust (exhaust PASSED the catalytic converters, aftermarket
mandrel bend pipe, excluding flowmaster muffler which didn't need replacing, new straight
tail pipes, and 9" chrome plated ends), a $228 job for only $60 cash. Spent 1 1/2 hours there
as he was doing an extremely meticulous job making sure everything was perfect and allowing my
picture taking to takee place. Great friends of ours for many years.

PS. What SIZE headers do I look for? The car has stock manufalds to dual cat, then changes to
2 3/4 (2 1/2" inner?) aftermarket mandrel bend pipe to 80 series flowmaster, and out dual tail
pipes.

So yeah, please help. Thanks.

slp 1 3/4 are made from stainless steel so they dont rust or corrode and add some good power. i'm building up funds to buy some, i dont want a set of long tubes myself.

If you dont like that price, get Hookers.

Just stay away from Edelbrock.

He also said something about having to cut the exhaust. That is going to be true for any headers for a dual cat car (such as a 92 L98) as the headers just come with lead pipes off teh collector that must be attached to the stock cats which must be cut.
If you go to http://rain.prohosting.com/imwhom towards the bottom of the page there's apicture that has a bunch of parts in it, one is a completed dual cat Y assembly for SLP headers, and you can kinda see where the lead pipes are welded to the cats.

I thought SLP makes adapter pipes for both single and dual cat exhausts?

Anyways, with a 5.7 I'd go with the larger 1 3/4" headers. You will appreciate them later on if/when you decide to do other mods to your engine (assuming you haven't already)

Getting them coated keeps them from rusting, and looks very nice whether they are stainless steel or not.
