CAT tube question.
OK ran a search didn't see what I was looking for...
Can anyone tell me if the tube on the Catylitic converter flows into the engine, or into the converter?
Also, if this tube is completely obstructed, will that cause any problems?
Any info appreciated

Air flows into the cat.
If the tube is obstructed, it can cause problems- usually with emissions testing.
Do you have any problem in particular?

actually yeah I do... here's a link to my other post: https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=171417
The cat tube is obstructed and I'm wondering if this is the problem, or contributing to it.

Air tube
I doubt a plugged air tube is your problem.
How did your air tube get plugged (kinked?).
Regardless. I just put a 350 TBI into my 91 RS. I didn't have the air tube into the cat connected and it made no difference. I just put it in today and still it made no difference.
The air tube going into the cat usually only helps with emmisions.
Reading your last thread, I think the guys contributing there were on the right track.
Check fuel pressure and spark.
I really can't help much beyond that since I'm more into the TBI end of camaros.
But, keep at it. ONce you find the problem and feel the power- it'll be worth it.
Best of luck-
