Major Mods 1982 Z28 pacecar

I am just about to purchase a 1982 Z28 Indy pace car from my friends uncle (great deal). I am aware that they only have 165 horsepower and around 250 pounds of torque but i have heard that givin them a nice cam with rods, springs, rockers, timing chain, and lifters really wake it up with long tubes and a catback. Is this true that i can get around 225 horses and 300 fpt?, where can i find a cam kit with everything included?, and any helpful hints and flaws about the 82 Z28 can help?

The thing that will hold the motor back is the cross fire injection, its kind of goofy. However I see no reason why 225 horsepower cant be achieved with it. The later 305 TPI motors were making that much horsepower stock. Somebody on here might know what you can do to open up that CFI a little. Do headers and a good exhaust system to start with.

my suggestion if u want some nice power, take that cross fire off thereand bolt up a old skewl cab and manifold for like 600 and pump like 260hp.
