Edelbrock Cat-Back

Hi, I'm interested in knowing if any one has the edelbrock cat back and how they felt about it. I was thinking Hooker cat back, but I know a few people with it kind of want an orriginal sound (thus putting flowmaster out of the question). Any opinions about either system would be appreciated.

I have Edelbrock cat back . It has a deep mellow tone kind of quiet compared to some other systems. I think it makes the car sound powerful but refined if you know what I mean.

I've had Flowmaster, then Hooker, and now Edelbrock. I ran the Hooker cat back for several years. I liked it but it was just as loud as not having a muffler at all and attracted a lot of "unwanted attention". At one point one of the baffle tubes inside the muffler broke lose and started rattling around. I cut a hole in the muffler, removed the tube and welded the hole shut, but it just didn't sound the same.

I then bought an Edelbrock muffler. I had listened to sound clips of it and liked it, plus the Edelbrock and Hooker cat-backs both utilize the same three bolt (header collector style) muffler inlet. So I'm using the Edelbrock muffler with my Hooker cat back.

Definitely has a nice, deep, powerful tone. Not obnoxious like the Hooker. And I liked the Hooker - the noise just got old after a few years.

Just my opinion, of course.

How about power with the Edelbrock cat-back, I think the intermediate pipe is only 2 3/4" instead of the regular 3".

I've seen the long pipe hanging to low to ground on the Edelbrock, do you have that problem?
