Another newbie looking for advice
Another newbie looking for advice
Hey people,
I am starting work on my 2.8L 88 camaro. Right now the car is completely stock with at least 98% original parts. That's not going to stay like that for long
. As soon as I get a chance, going to drop a 350 engine in it.
Right now I am trying to see what my exhaust options are. I know this is a very broad question and everyone has different advice, but what would be a good place/site to look at different, complete exhaust setups and pick up some knowledge, so next time I post here I would at least appear like I have a clue of what I am talking about.
So far I've been looking at SLP headers, no AIR and building a dual cat back system. How much more trouble is dual system? Would it make more sence from practical and economical standpoints to have one 3" pipe with 1 muffler?
As always, any info/help/comments/pictures would be greatly appreciated :hail:

either way you'll have one muffler.
if you have to have a cat go ahead and keep it. if you want the most flow for that type of application stick with 3" pipe and a good 2 chamber muffler with single out. it may not look the best compared to a fake dual look but it will make more power and give off a deeper tone.
personally, i'd wait until the rest of the vehicle is together....exhaust should be one of the last things you do if your doing an engine.

Kandied is right, decide on scavenging when you choose the engine setup. GM performance has some nice stuff that fit's up perfect, but it's really pricey. The 1LE camaros had a dual cat setup but if it is still available the whole system was over a grand. There are a lot of options out there any of which will work well.
