anyoen know what exhaust manifolds will fit SBxc in third gens other than the orignal factory straight over above spark plugsstyle manifolds ? will the 79 and older manifolds that go under spark plugs clear the crosssmember in the third gens ?

how about some headers that are not expensive and that the collectors dont point straight down or back up towards front of the car one one side of the car ?


talking about whether these 70s under below spark plugs style stock manifolds will fit on third gen, three pics:

and these are the stock 80-up third gen smogger manifolds over above spark plugs that i dont want to use, caprice and truck ones have three studs instead of only two on third gen F-bodies:

i assume that the older ones will fit since they exit so far in the rear- just like the original smogger above-spark plugs style ones do.

i tried to use a set of (in the following pics) angled back version of the old 60's-'72('68 in cars) ram horns and they will bolt on and fit but damn the bottom-most exhaust stud would be in the way of the engine crossmember cradle, so thats no good unless i cut some metal out of the crossmember in which would not be a good idea..

going to try 70s log style under spark plugs style manifolds next..
hoping someoen already has and can say whether they clear everything or not.
