Dual cat, catback system question.

OK, I'm gonna be installing a complete exhaust system soon. 1 3/4" SLP shorties into dual cats. I've noticed that some catbacks offer single or dual set-ups, and some don't. Does this mean that a company that offers a dual cat system would include a y-pipe that takes the intermediate pipe right up to the cats, and the other systems that don't, I would need to supply/find/fabricate my own y-pipe?

They usually make two different intermediate pipes and the same over axle pipe, one of them stops parallel with the length of the car near the front of the driveshaft, the other actually turns towards the pass side and continues up to the cat for the single cat version.

You shouldnt have a big problem cutting a single cat intermediate pipe down for running dual cats, vice versa will be a little harder.

So either way, I'd need the y-pipe? That's no biggie really, I was just tryin' to figure everything out BEFORE I start buying.

Thanks.

I believe one of the Flowmaster systems actually does include a Y pipe to replace the stock one just after the cats, to the intermediate pipe.
