Y Pipe?

I know this is a stupid question, but what is the y pipe? Is it the pipe that goes from the left manifold to the right? OR is it the pipe coming off of the right manifold to the cat?

its the thing thats hooks to the ends of the headers / manifolds and then goes to the cat. converter.
