I noticed with the coatings, that when the motor is hot dont get your hands anywhere near the headers.. The myth of you being able to almost touch them, is a myth.

But. They cool down like. FAST. I can touch the headers, no prob shortly after shut down - when I still can't touch the heads.

Dave,
Do you know if you will be having a sale on the hooker 2055 and coated y- pipe anytime in the next month or so?

Thanks a lot.

If you can get back to me Dave, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

AIR Pipe Threads

Are the AIR pipes on the 2055's clean, as in, do you folks cover the threads so they are not to ceramic coated to make the emission hookups easy? Oh yea, and how much would shipping to 80134 be?

Hello, Sorry for the delay, Our coating is a 1/2 a mil thick we haven't had any problems with the threads being coated but under request we can do whatever you want. shipping is $30 and $5 for handling.
Thanx

ACS, is it possible to buy headers from you without them being coated? I am on a very tight budget but I want to get headers. Basically, how much would it cost to get the Hooker 2055s, uncoated, but with a 02 bung welded in and remove the AIR tubes shipped to 29611?

Thanks in advance.

Dave - a little off topic, but, when are you guys going to have your website up and running? I'm sure about 99% of the questions you're scrambling to answer on this thread could be answered if everyone could just see the site.

How long did the guys who ordered headers from ACS wait for the headers to come in? I've been waiting for what seems to be 17 years for mine to come in when I was told itd be 10-15 days. I called about a week ago persistantly and finally the one guy asked for my number and said the guy in charge of shipping would call me back with the information. i received no call. im a bit angry because of that. oh, and they charged my credit card to boot, but i still have no headers

I'm going on close to 3 weeks now. I talked to one of the guys there he said that the hookers were on backorder and it took them a little over a week to get them. They finally got em, but are now having major issues with UPS, but should be able to send out today or tomorrow. That's what they told me anyways. I sure hope they hurry, that's all I'm waiting for before I put the new/old motor in.

Really? If they had simply told me my hookers were on backorder, Id a been happy with that. but i recall the guy teleling me my 2055s were coated, and the shipping guy would get back to me...shame if theyre having trouble i just wish theyd let the customers know.

Hey guys,

I don't know what is going on at ACS. You are right. If there is a problem they should communicate it to their customers.

I bought my headers from them back in Nov/Dec. I believe the time for me then was about 14 days from order to delivery. I bought Hedmans not Hookers...

My experinece with ACS was 100% Positive. They were very good about callbacks and were very helpful in helping me decide which headers to order.

My headers arrived evenly coated and looking better than I expected.

Well, to tell you the truth, I'm not very upset about it because ACS can't help backorders or problems with shippers, and if I had a chance to do business with them again, I wouldn't even hesitate. But I am certainly on edge, waiting for my headers to get here.

EDIT: All is forgiven, I got mine in this morning, now if I could just find time to put them on.

So you had the air tubes cut off? Have any closer pics showing this?

Looks like a good coating job, but when I cut mine off and welded them, I ground them down smooth again inside and out. Nobody would ever know they were even there if I didn't tell them. It took some time, but worth it for me. Oh and thanks for the pics. You will be very happy with those headers.

Again all is forgiven. I got mine today. The problem was that they had taken down the wrong address and UPS got gay with them or something. I dont have pics, but can say im very pleased. my only complaint is that the y-pipe seems to have a dent right at the very end, where it would meet the cat, but hooker couldve done that so im not bitching. one main concern is no hardware was sent with the headers/y-pipe. if im not mistaken, there shouldve been. what are the headers and y-pipe suppoed to clamp together with, hopes and dreams?

EDIT: nevermind, I gave them a call and one of their guys told me I should've gotten gastkets/bolts and such, so I'll call back when their shipping guy is in and get it all taken care of. Great people there.

Hey, My guys %*^%& up and sent your hardware 2nd day instead of next day. Sorry. We'll send you a $25 gift cert to make up a little. Thanks for the compliments. Please forgive us for being behind as UPS and our distributor as well as Hedman have completely screwed us lately. Being a small business we don't have many options when it comes to these companys.
We are still striving to provide the best customer service possible!!!

Hooker 2055

Dont the 2055 have the O2-bung already? I read on this post that You charge 18$ to weld it in. How much would these be, coated, AIR removed and plugged(welded) including shipping to Sweden?

Just ordered my Hooker 2055's!

Gunmetal grey finish, A.I.R. Tubes cutoff, Y-pipe coated. With a $50 gift certificate I got for the signature work it came to $495.

I'll post pics when they get here in like 3-4 weeks.

But in any case Jimmy, Dave, and ACS rock!

I'm sure shipping won't be too bad - it wasn't even that bad to the UK. I know they ship to Canada regularly.

I just ordered a set of Hedman 68460's from these guys. They are supposed to be here in 10-15 days, so hopefully they won't get too backed up. I talked to Jimmy on the phone and he is cool as hell and was very willing to work with me. Thanks ACS!!

Well, if you recently ordered a set of Hooker 2055's then you may be waiting a while. It seems summit is a bit behind on their orders. Kinda hard for ACS to do their job if summit won't get off their bum and send the Hookers for coating!

Jimmy, I don't blaim you personally, or ACS as a company. I just wish summit would get the headers out to you. I need them in my hands in time for the July 10th drag strip rental. I want the car to go with all the upgrades I have for it.

SO i.e. ACS finally has time to get their website going maybe? After all they're selling on ebay and to guys directly off this site, they should have the dough to finally pay some caffeine charged geek to whip out SOMETHING after all this time.

C'mon Dave, when can we actually SEE something? You'll finally get my business..as well as others.. when you do

I just got a call from ACS and my headers should be shipping out this coming Monday (the 14th), so hopefully they'll be in my hands before the July 10th drag strip day comes up....

I really want to have my new combo in the car and broken in before the track day. Gonna do some data logging and tuning on track day. ^_^

I just ordered my headers from ACS two days ago and I was extremely impressed with their service on the phone. The fact that they made a point to explain to me how to treat them and maintain them was impressive enough. They even helped me understand why the air tubes needed to be reversed and how they work.

He took my order over paypal at 4:00pm and made sure to order the headers from summit before they closed for the day.

They're even coating my Y-Pipe for free! I am thrilled. It's not often that a 3rd party specialist in this type of field treats their customers with patients and tact, I encourage all of you to give ACS your business.

Yep, my headers JUST arrived this morning. I found out the Y-pipe gets a slightly different coating and its more of a matte finish rather than the gun metal grey satin, or stearling silver finishes. I called them up and they happily explained that too me. It looks like VHT paint, but it still has a ceramic feel to the Y-pipe. A lot like the feeling of holding a non-glazed clay pottery.

In any case, here is a picture, my favorite, and a link to the gallery of pics I took.

I have the Gun Metal Grey finish, so its not chrome like. Its very cool and has a metallic flake look to it.

you did a good job on smoothing out those welds. I can't even tell they were there. Look a lot like mine

I didn't do it, ACS did and they did an excellent job. For a second I wasn't sure I recieved the right headers because they didn't have AIR tubes. But there was a slight wave where they had been. Excellent work they have done.

I agree. They did a good job and it looks a lot better than the ones they did above.

I also just ordered some HK 2055's from ACS. I requested the tubes be cut and holes welded close and the whole system is going to be coated. I spoke with Kat and she was excellent! Very informative with my questions. I was told in approx. 10-15 business days so I'm anxiously awaiting these headers. So far ACS, by the pics and the quality of their coating are top notch.
I also got a deal cause I'm a member of Third Gen..
