Easy Question

An exhaust shop isnt gonna have any problems having to go from a 3 inch pipe to lets say a 2 1/4? Anybody know the stock exhaust pipe size for an 84 Z? Asking because just got a new 3 inch cat and catback and have to attach it to the stock y pipe. Thanks

Any good exhaust shop should have no trouble doing that at all. I have had shops go from 2-3, 3-4, 4-3, 2.5-3, 2.75-3, and others without a problem.

Sweet, just what I wanted to hear I have my flowmaster catback ready for installation. I wish my cat would get here. Maybe I will just put my catbac on and run open headers for a little bit

I say **** on the neighbors. If its too loud, they are too old! I've got a 91 gta, it has 2, 2 1/2" pipes to a single 3" pipe. Any good muffler shop should be able to hook you up. Nothing sounds as good as a healthy motor with open headers.

I take it that you didn't buy the cat-back for your car? i only say that because some of them come with the rducer already attached. No biggy and you won't have a problem. I had a shop weld on a 3" to 2.5" reducer from my cat to my y-pipe when i added headers to my car.
