Single 3.5" tailpipe to duals?
I currently have 3.5" catback going to a Flowmaster 3.5"in/out muffler and then thru a single 3.5" tailpipe. I really want a dual outlet (much like Wishmaster87IROC has as do many others here).
Question is, can an exhaust shop go from 3.5" out of the muffler and dual it with something smaller or do I have to get a dual outlet muffler and then can you get ones that go from 3.5" in to dual 2.5" out?

I have a plan for something similar in the future, get a flowmaster single 3.5" to dual 2.5" Y pipe, have it welded on like the SLP Loudmouth, and put a pair of dynomax race bullets, voila !

389-Y250350 2-1/2" Inlet to 3-1/2"Outlet $37.99
289-24215 2-1/2'' In/Out, 12'' Long $31.99 x 2
Plus some 2.5" pipe and a few mandrel bends and tips if you're adding them.

for my exaust im going to use the stock setup under the car with a cross between the 4th gens loudmouth setup. have the pipe come over the axel and stright out on one side, and route another pipe off it after the bend going to the other side, crossing where the muffler would normaly sit. weld up one 12' pack, on what little frame there is back there, on each side and the tips right to the packs. not a true duel but true duel glass packs
