O2 sensor

I seem to be having an idle problem. I just got new hooker longtubes. With the longtubes, the 02 sensor has to be relocated from the top of the header to just after the collector.(the ypipe). Now, when I pull up to a light the car will search for an idle and die. Would not having a heated o2 sensor cause this problem?

If I am not mistaken the heated o2 sensor will only help your car take more accurate readings sooner. I think the sensor has to be at a certain temp for it to function right and the heated ones heat up faster than the normal...but I'm not possitive..
