Question about Cat bracket

I am in the process of installing SFCs and am trying to remove some pieces (passenger side heat shield and cat bracket). The previous owner of my car deleted the cat. I am just curious if I can take off the bracket for the cat and leave it off. The two bolts for it run from that bracket to the torque arm on the transmission. I know that this is probably a dumb question but I couldn't find an answer from searching. Thanks for any help.

I don't know about the bracket but the heat shield will have to be removed. It was needed for clearance for the Spohn SFC installation.

I removed the heat shield. I didn't figure that the bracket would interfere with my SFCs, I was just wondering if it's OK to remove it since it's not doing anything. Thanks for responding, though.

I would leave it there if it is still attached to your I-pipe. It gives some support and prevents it from flexing as you go down the road.

It's not attached to the I-pipe, at least not since I've owned the car. It's just sitting there doing nothing. D*** previous owners!
