Long or Short tube headers?
Im getting ready to buy a set of headers for my 88 sport coupe. I was told the long tube headers make more power but they wont clear the stock floor pan. The shorty headers will fit no problem but will they measure up? I would rather have the long tubes. Does anyone know where I can get them that will clear the floor? I would like the ceramic coating. Thanks

There are sets of long tube headers that fit the 3rdgen chassis just fine, but its ground clearance that suffers. Shorty headers work perfectly fine.

No such thing as mid-lenth hdrs 4 a 3rd gen, affordable LT hdrs won't work if you have a manual trans. If ur car iz'nt lowerd u won't have any clearence probs with the long tubes. If u want true duals LT's are the way to go, other wise got with the shorty's and y-pipe. you can get the 3 in exaust with the Hooker SC's witch provide about the same HP and Tourqe as the LT's but if you want trus duals, you r lookin' at more $ @ the exaust shop.
