Flowmaster 80 seires or Hooker aerochamber?

Right now i have a STOCK exhaust with a flowmaster 80 seires. This winter i am putting headers and a y pipe and gutting the cat. But what will sound better. Should i just get a hooker cat back or a 3 inch I pipe and run the flowmaster? All the help will be great.

P.S. Hooker 2055's or Edelbrock TES?

i am running hooker 2055's shorties and flowmaster 80 series 3inch catback with stock cat. It sounds incredible. Stick with that to save some money. Otherwise just do a custom setup with a chambered tube muffler and have exhuast shop weld it all up. It will sound real mean like that. I dont really like areochamber systems, but just my opinion. I am more of the chambered tube/slp loudmouth dude that loves it loud and mean!!

I also have the flowmaster and it sounds mean.I would just upgrade to 3 inch pipe and tailpipes.Headers will make it sound even better.

If you need attention (loud) stay with the Slowmaster. If you want power go with the Hooker.

I was there for a day's worth of Dyno pulls for a magazine story, and Hooker Aerochambers and Magnaflows are worth about 15-20 HP on a modded engine over the Slowmasters. They also produce a better power band and they rumble, they don't resonate the whole car.

Ya Tuned Port 335 is the reason im looking into the Hooker system. That thing sounds awsome. Is it loud when you idliling and when you cruising down the road at about 2500 RPMS or is the flowmaster louder?

Idling is fairly decent, nothing extremely noticeable since I still have a cat converter, but at 1500+ you can definitely hear it. And with the 3000 stall it gets loud if i whack the throttle real quick Nice throaty sound to it rather than the rapsy mufflers of other companies.

I didn't like the Hooker clips that I found here on TGO, but I came across a deal and bought one to replace my Loudmouth.

The Hooker is absolutely AWESOME...and I'm a fan of Flowmaster. Flowmaster is cool for stock cars, but if you're motor sounds good on it's own, you don't need a FM.

...not that those of you with the FM don't have modded engines!!

flowmasters are sound dependent on the motor its on. I heard it on LS1/Lt1's and didnt like it but on my l98, its a great sound. On 305's i didnt like it. all depends on motor i guess for some reason.

Needs to be louder but oh well. with headers, the sound is smoothed out and not as raspy as before. Cant wait till i get a high flow cat. gonna get a sound clip/video clip of it someday.
