Performance Factor

Newb question: Will a flowmaster that has a 3" in to 2.5" dual outs perform better or worse than a 3" in to 3" single out. I like the single outlet design, but I wouldn't want to sacrifice performance for it.

Dual 2.5 will be better. Look at the surface area.

You'll gain at least .00001 hp from the dual one over the single.

well the single in dual out muffler goes through it and hits a 90* degree turn and has to go both ways, you would lose velocity right there, and would cause turbulance. the single in single out muffler is a straight through design with minimal hard corners, and would have more velocity than the single in dual out muffler. velocity is what you want in an exhaust system, not just bigger area to flow in.
