Edelbrock Cat Back Install Problem
Hi guys - I am trying to finish up the new exhaust system for my 1988 IROC 5.0 HO (LB9). I just installed Hooker 2055 Headers, a Dynomax High-Flow Cat, and am TRYING to get my Edelbrock Cat-Back system installed, but am having trouble.
The PROBLEM is that I can't get the muffler and tailpipes aligned properly - they are skewed so that the tailpipes are angled slightly at the rear (drivers side sticks out further in rear than passenger side). The issue seems to be that the angle of the over-axle pipe bend does not allow the muffler to be installed parallel to the axle. As you know, there is not much play here - that over-axle pipe can't be moved much, and it SEEMS like the 90 degree bend is not quite far enough to allow the muffler to be installed right. I have tried calling Edelbrock but so far they have been worthless.......it's funny, cause after the header install I thought this part would be easy.....any help???
