I have an 83 firebird 305 , 5.0 . 5 speed. I bought headers for it and plan on an entire exhaust , but my stock manifold has air tubes connected to them , the headers do not . My ? is are they the wrong headers ?

You bought the non-AIR headers then. Do you need AIR to pass emissions or inspection? Just take that crap off.Originally posted by Tiny5.0Firebird

Hooker 2055, Edelbrock, SLP, Mac all have headers with the AIR injection if you need it.
I personally don't care if it passes emissions or not , from what I've read on the forum , it doesn't really make a difference in the way the car runs except it make's the exhaust cleaner. Am I correct in this ? please help me out!!!!!!!
Yea, it makes it cleaner by injecting air into the exhaust to allow the burning of any fuel that is left unburnt by the combustion process. No, it won't affect how it runs.
Now how much stuff will come out by doing away with the air system ?
