Re: 92 RS Differential help

You can replace the LSD carrier; if so, use ANYTHING BUT either an Eaton Gov-Lock, or an Auburn. Stock unit was an Auburn which is why it's worthless. Good choices might include the Eaton regular posi or the True-Track, or Yukon, as examples.

Your gears are probably 3.08, or at least would most likely have come that way; but always LOOK before "assuming" anything. 3.42 is usually a pretty good all-around street gear for a motor that doesn't rev, like a TBI 305.

You correct the speedo by changing the speedo gears in the transmission.

The answer to your long tube header question depends greatly on your definition of "fit".

Don't they make period buttons anymore? It's not OK to leave out periods.

Eaton Posi, Eaton Truetrac, Yukon Dura Grip or Power Trax Grip LS would be good replacements.

Allright cool do u know a approximate price for a carrier? And I heard for long tube headers u have to bash the collector pipe and especially since its a standard just from what I've been reading

Re: 92 RS Differential help

Carriers are in the $400 - 600 sort of range.

Long tube headers create all kinds of problems on these cars. They rarely make a good long-term "improvement". Wouldn't surprise me a bit if you've heard what you say you have. One of those things where just because they "work" "better" than shorties, i.e. make more torque or HP or whatever, doesn't automatically make them A Good Idea.
