Coated headers "smoking"

I installed a set of hedmans from jethot, and I had the matching y-pipe coated at a local place here. They used a finish almost identical to jethots, but on the inside, they used an olive looking coating. They told me it would smoke a little, but I am wondering if this is a lasting effect or if it will burn off. I haven't run the car much since the install, but I notice it smokes alot more at higher rpms, and it tends to find the vents and smoke up the cab. Any ideas> Anyone heard ot ceramic coatings doing this at all? They said this olive coating dramatically reduces heat.

I havent heard of it before, but since it's smoking, you can safely assume that means it's burning off, which means eventually it will be gone. I'm sorry if this is no help to you lol.

More than likely what is burning off is the residue from your hands/grease etc on the headers. It will burn off but take a little while. You will smell the burning off smell for a few days...

Yup, I agree. Its just the crap that gets all over it between the coating, and installation. Dirt and grease from your hands, anything the car maybe leaked on it, etc. I wouldn't worry about it unless it actually does appear to be burning off.

The OLIVE inside coating is the same as the outside.

The "PROBLEM" is they are a **** company that doesnt have the right tools to do the right ceramic coating job.

that OLIVE look is the ceramic coating BEFOR its finished/sealed/polished.

let me guess the inside looks like this?

How about the outside of the y pipe is it as good as the headers or look like this

In reality it should look like this. Almost like the outside. This is a set of Hooker Supercomp LTs I did

The COMPLETE inside looks like this.

They dont have a VIBRATORY POLISHER to get the inside done right. and its not worth more then $20bucks of work.

Im not tryin to rain on your party but the way they did it is no better then if you went to walmart and got a 99cent can of 1200* VHT paint and did it.
