cat heat shield reattachment

i've had a rattling at low rpms and finally traced it down to the cat. the heat shield on top of the cat (not the one attached to the car) is just resting on top. what is the best way to reattach it? i've thought about welding or pop rivets...any ideas for the best hold? thanks

If you use pop rivets, find some stainless steel ones.

i used stainless self taping screws and put one on each corner...used vise grips to hold it together till screws bit.
