Anyone know a shop in in the Virginia area that'll put on straight pipes without giving a hassle about EPA regs. and such? The place i talked to basically said NO but if i removed the tags and all the stickers and VIN plate they would. What a hassle though.

 

“VA area” that doesn’t really give me a clue where you are in VA. VA isn’t a small state. I got a local shop to do mine but I do have a cat they told me I had to go home and remove the cat myself then bring it to them so they couldn’t get in trouble. You can also try telling them it’s a race only car see if that works. Also if your up in Northern VA forget about it they do sniffer up there and I doubt you pass that. You could always do it yourself. If your doing just stright pipes no bends and so on just some simple clamps should do.

 

If you can trailer it to the shop and take the plates off they may assume its strictly off-road and not question you. Also, a cheap stick welder is more than enough to put on exhaust pipes- I say DIY.
