Mandrel or Not
hey guys im finnaly doing my exhaust and cant find anyone local that can mandrel bend!! so my question is, on a dual 2.5" setup will it matter if the pipes arent mandrel bent? Im running a 97 LT1 and dont think i would notice the difference but in the spring I plan on dropping another $4k on a supercharger and head work. Im trying to mimic ******* dual setup

Mandrel bent is the only way to go. There is a bigger difference than you think between the two. If you don't portions of your pipe will be less than your desired 2.5".

ya I heard it could bring my I.D down to almost 2". Since I cant find a shop around here I may just have to buy piece pre -bent and weld them all up!

Im listening the some of the sound clips on here and its hard to tell the difference between the duals and the single setups. I would figure the duals with an X-pipe would sound alot meaner.

Sound has a lot to do with pipe size, muffler selection and engine output. The way it is routed does change the sound but it doesn't mean it will make it meaner per se.
