What is the best exhaust for an LO3 TBI?

I was thinking of getting a few of them.......

this one on www.summitracing.com and here is the part number PSM-86-2814

I dont know alot about Pacesetter exhaust but I did hear they were pretty good from my understanding. I am not sure about the kind of tone and power I'd be getting from them.

I havent heard alot about the Dynomax Ultra Flo catbacks either but a few people I have talked to said they were definitely a step up from all the cheapie ones Dynomax makes....here's the part number for that WLK-17391

I heard alot of good things about the Edelbrock RPM Catbacks....part number here EDL-5672

This is the SLP version of their catbacks, I love the way SLP sounds, they are very mean and throaty I am not sure how they would sound on an LO3 though but I expect good things for a 400 dollar system. SLE-31008

Also Magnaflow catback, Magnaflow is my favorite exhaust company, no matter what all of their exhausts can make any car sound terrifying but something disappoints me. Apparently they didnt make catbacks for 3rd gens which makes me angry, but I was still wondering if an LT1 Magnaflow catback will fit onto my LO3 TBI, and if it can't is there anyway? The part number to the set I want is here MPE-15620

Basically from what I've been told the Edelbrock cat backs flow perfectly with the TBI based engines and they sound really good. I am really looking for sound and flow....I want something that sounds deep when you fire her up and at idle, and something terrifying at higher RPMs....I want to let people know I am coming.

Are you looking to replace just the cat-back or the whole system at this time?

If you are just replacing the cat-back than I would use the search function as well the the above stickies to help you decide. Cat-backs are a matter of preference as all the 3" systems perform basically the same. The real difference comes when you are choosing headers.

for now I wanna do the catback only, because I am on a limited budget really.....

I'll do the headers maybe about 6 months down the road or something and then I'll be fine. But for now, catback only

Whoa, better rein back your horses here.

None of you have asked the most important question: Emissions testing/inspection required?

Pick what you think sounds the best. Listen to some clips. At your power level, there won't be much power difference (if any) between the different choices.

I have a cat back with 3" outlets.I know that they say that the l03 exuast is bad,but not that bad when you knock out the cat.I can tell a big difference in sound and power. Let the flames begin.

If you can't back the power claim with measured data (track times, dyno pulls), I, for one, won't accept butt dyno assessments. Loud cars are always "faster" on the BD.

No butt dyno to it.The car has better response and takes off better. There wasn't anything wrong with the cat,I had a fuel pump go out,and I thought at the time that maybe the problem. That is just one way of uncorking that l03 exaust cheaply for the time being.

id say to go for the edelbrock... but like they all said above, its all a matter of sound preference. I had the stock i with a fm 80, and i took that off for the rpm 3'' catback. i like its sound so much better.... took a risk cuz not many people have clips... check mine out www.geocities.com/imadude_134/rpm.avi let me know what u think
