GMMG Installed.

Well I finally got off my lazy *** and had the GMMG installed. Which far as I know makes me the only one on the board with GMMG on a stock L98. I love the sound of it. Im still running the factory dual cats, so it might be louder with no/gutted cats. Video to come VERY soon, with any luck tomorrow.

Comman man, post em up!

I would for sure consider this catback for next year. I'd love to hear it on a L98.

Getting a gmmg chambered exhausted installed this spring. Did you have to cut the intermediate pipe for it to fit the y-pipe of the cats? I was told by gmmg that the pipe has to be cut.

I love the sound of GMMGs. IMO the only catback to make an LS1 actually sound good!!

Although I'd rather buy $100 of chambered mufflers from summit and make my own.

It is the most incredible sounding cat-back that exists for the F-Body.

Good choice Quick6... I like your style. My car sounds like dirty hot sex spinning to 6 grand... I went through a long tunnel on the 210 freeway in Pasadena and I had to tromp the go pedal just so I could entertain everyone else in the tunnel.

Sorry for no video as of yet guys. I have tried filming the car/exhaust twice now, and each time the microphone on the camera cuts out when the exhaust gets too loud. Im thinking of maybe standing further away from the car to hopefully stop this but I don't know.. Any suggestions?

Yeah same here, I guess the exhaust sounds too beautiful to be captured to any sort of media.

lol... microphones don't seem to cooperate with us GMMG owners.

I am not completely sure what the shop did to install the system. AFAIK the I-pipe does have to be cut for the system to fit.

So is this a catback? Or an axel back? If it's an axel back, then you got to buy a I pipe too, doh!

The GMMG chambered exhaust is a catback sytem. It comes with a 3 inch intermediate pipe. I was told by GMMG That the exhaust system was made for the forth gen camaro. The hanger brackets also fit in the same location for the third gen camaro. The only difference is that the intermdiate pipe is a little longer and may need to be cut a little to fit into the third gen dual or single cats.

After reading this thread, I DID A SEARCH but didn't find an exact answer to what I was looking for. How does the GMMG system compare to the Flowmaster American Thunder kit as far as loudness. I know that a lot of people don't like the Flowmaster's sound. I'm not concerned with the sound. Actually, I'm not even thinking about buying the Flowmaster system. It's just that I am familiar with the Flowmaster's loudness. I would just like to know how the GMMG system compares.

The GMMG is one of the top 3 sweetest catbacks there is for the F-Body. It blows away the American Thunder by a long shot.

It doesn't drone in car (pretty amazing) and at idle just adds a deep tone to the exhaust, not an excessive amount of volume. With a load, it's very deep and powerful, and over 2500 you can hear the car coming from every direction. At WOT forget it, the car sounds like the gates of hell just opened.

At night when the city is quiet, you can hear a car with a GMMG at wide open throttle for a mile or two, literally. But volume isn't all these things are about, the tone and muscle car sound is what makes this thing so awesome.

If I can take a video in the next few days I'll try to host it somewhere... Of course that's if you guys don't mind hearing it on a LT1.

GMMG is ultimate. I love it! After being on LS1sounds.com and hearing some of the cars, I'm hooked. I know they are LSx's and what not, but hell man...you gotta love that sound! Anyone else out there have this setup installed on their 3rdgen?

I was going with the Hooker 2055's or Hedman shorties, the company Y-pipe, 3" cat and the GMMG. How you thinkg that would sound?

Sorry, didn't mean to be a jerk. Just really wanted to hear it on a L98.

Can't you just move the mic back? There are also options in windows for the mic:

Turning off the microphone boost or lowering the volume may help.

For some reason my computer doesnt let me see videos off of streetfire. Is there any way you can send me that video or something because id really like to see it?!?!

At the top there should be a link that says flash, windows media, quicktime, etc. If you have any of those select the one you have. I couldn't watch any videos on streetfire until I realized that it tryed to play me flash video files. Then I learned that you can just click on the Windows Media link and the videos will work.

If that doesn't work I don't know what the problem is.

Yea thats still alot of money. I mean the GMMG is such an awesome system ,however being a HS student i dont know if i can afford it. I do really like the exhaust tips though...do you think i could purchase the exhaust tips from them if i cant afford the full system. I know they make those oval tips for people who own the catback, but you guys think they would sell me the regular ones?
