Are you asking about replacing the catalytic converter or the O2 sensors?
You only need to replace either part if you fail a smog test because your emissions are too high. The cat-con will really reduce your emissions while the O2 sensor is what gives you great fuel mileage and makes the car perform its best while cruising. If its been 30,000+ miles since the O2 sensor was last replaced, then I would go ahead and replace it.

Just the Cat. Like Kevin said if you have high milage on your O2 sensor than you might want to consider replacing it.
