Upgrading to a 3" exhaust system..

ok, I'm upgrading my emissions system and replacing the stock cat with a 3" output cat. I want to upgrade to the hooker aerochamber cat back exhaust, and I can only find it with 2.5" pipes (specific for my car). Being new to exhaust upgrades, I'd like to get a kit thats already set up for my car, but I want it with 3" pipes. Whats the easiest way to get a kit that would fit? (i.e. is there a comparable year model I could get that would fit and give me 3" pipes)?

thanks!

All of Hooker's catbacks for our cars are 3" if I remember correctly. The only difference between the different kits are the connection at the cat. Two of them have a reducer that narrows the piping down to fit the stock cat. The other one is just a straight 3" all the way through.

The 2.5" part of the catback which you are referring to are the outlet pipes on the muffler. They are only 2.5" compared to the rest of the system's 3", but by the time the exhaust gases reach the muffler, they have probably slowed so much that it really doesn't matter.

EDIT: By the way, the catback part number you are looking for is HOK-16823HKR @ summitracing.com.
