Best & loudest kit for $300
Hi Guys, I'm contemplating getting a cat back kit for my 82 z28... I want the loudest kit I can find.... I already have a 350 cid Gm crate engine installed, along with short tube headers.
The car currently has a dynomax turbo muffler on it, that was bushed to fit the stock 2.25" main pipe, but it's too quiet... Can hardly hear the exhaust over the noisy gear drive
Anyway, it's not a daily driver, not even a weekly driver, but when I do take it out for a spin, I like it loud....
How is the hooker cat-back kit????
Thanks!

if you want loud i'd recommend nothing short of a dynomax bullet muffler. $37 dollars from summit racing. Probably about $150 to install with some custom piping.
click hear me in my sig to hear my car. no cat, stock manifolds and a bullet muffler.

hooker screams when you open it up, especially after it's well broken in. I reccomend it to any 3rd gen owner that likes loud pipes

true, the hooker opens up like a beast coming out to feast when load is put on it and you get on the loud pedal. But it is not that loud at idle.
I have headers now with no cat and just the hooker cat back and it is tolerable for everyday driving which is what i do with it.
My previous set up was a bullet style muffler with two small resonators behind the axle (which was the stock 82 set up-behind the axle) and at idle it made sure the lope was heard and when you got on it it would open up as well just not as much as the hooker.
