I have swapped a 1995 lt1 into a 1987 firebird and put hooker long tube headers on it. now as you guys know there are not many y pipes available for the third gens! So has any one ever thought about adapting a 4th gen long tube header y pipe to fit on a third gen? the reason i ask is because i have a 4th gen one in my garage. and do not want to buy a mufflex, they run into a 4" pipe and i want to run 3" without having to throw an adapter in to reduce the intermediate pipe.

has this ever bin done or attemped?
