Will Cat choke stroker?

Will a catalytic converter choke the exhaust enough to make it idle poorly. I'm talking about a 383 with a ex284hydralic cam.

It depends on how much power you make and what size exhaust pipe you use. High flow cats do not rob power like they used to. As long as you size your exhaust correctly, and use a high flow cat, you won't restrict the system. If you are really concerned your best bet is to run an cut-out for the times when you need every last pony.
