Header Install

I own an 89 gta with mac headers and need to change the head gaskets, wondering if anyone knows what has to be done to remove the headers? Looks like I might have to remove the steering shaft on the drivers side? Not sure about the passenger side yet,any help would be appreciated!

Most of the time you can muscle it. I would remove it!

You shouldn't have to remove the steering shaft. You should be able to remove the y-pipe and starter and have ebough room to remove them from the bottom. Many driver side headers will come out from the top. When in doubt remove the two enging mount bolts and slighty jack the motor up. That will usually give you enough room to get at all the bolts and remove the headers from under the hood.
