toning it down some
right now, i have a strait pipe/turndown + dynomax cat coming off my y pipe, and need it a bit more quiet, how effective is a car chemistry 3 disk insert for 2.5" pipe vs. a 45" long thrush glass pack?

Dang, 45" seems a bit too long. See if you could possibly fit a mini-turbo muffler in their, i believe it would fit. Should give a nice quiet rumble. I put a thrush 28" pack on my DD which is a 3.8 and through a cat and 2-1/4" crumple bent pipe sounds bassy and quiet at idle a bit too "resonant" at acceleration and relatively quiet at speed.
If i were you i would definitely invest the 150 or less through summit and buy a full exhaust system for your car.

yea, the oply reason i wanted a 45" long glass pack is because if i was going to use an actual muffler, i wanted it to look as if was the entire pipe, i want a clean look, to i might just go with the car chemistry 3 disk insert, i dont mind it loud nor do the police but my nieghbors and mom do, if it makes some difference then its good enought, im spending that 150 plus a little more on headers!
