Cutout resolve restrictive exhaust?

I am gettin my new motor this summer hopefully, and although my exhaust now is good for my 305, a 400hp 355 is gonna be choked by 1 5/8 headers, high flow cat, and a Flowmaster catback. I am gonna be broke as hell though after gettin the motor in so replacing the exhaust with a better flowing setup won't be in the budget. Think a nice 3" QTP e-cutout in place of the cat will solve the restriction problem at least for this season?

at the track, the cut outs are a great idea, as for the streets, you might get pulled over cause the car will be so loud lol
