what are the chances

Ok short story, I purchased Hedman 68469 D-port painted longtubes from summit for around 160 and was planning on getting them coated after I fitted them and made sure I had enough ground clearance. so I get my 3 inch duals all done fire it up run it for a few days and the paint starts flakin off and turnning to dust which normal and I expected this but what I didnt expect was the nice silver finish under the paint. I wiped the residue from the paint off and from the looks of it the header is coated!!! Ive had them on there for about 1000 miles now and they look just as good as when I first discovered it! has anyone had a similar experience cause im blown away. the coating doesnt look to thick but it does look good ill have to snap a pic cause you can still see the flanges have black paint on them while the primaries have burned off the paint and the nice silver finish is left.
