i currently have a 1984 firebird v6, with no exhaust from the cat back. the parts were removed and sold until i bought the car. I have acquired a super 40 series flowmaster from my friend, but i need pipes now. what pipes do i need? i am not familiar with the configuration of the exhuast, since i never saw it, as it was removed before i bought the car. the flowmaster needs 3" pipes....

You need an intermediate pipe, a reducer from 2-1/4" inch or so to 3", and a tailpipe. The tailpipe needs to be 3", or another reducer to adapt the muffler to a smaller pipe.

Babes, it shouldn't be too much. Just have to rig the exhaust with the pipes like I usually do lol. The Dakota stock was 3" pipes, so I just used intermediate pipes of 3 1/4" to slip over the factory exhaust and the Flowmaster you have... as you see from that piece in there already haha. I can price everything out for you.. or we can stop by Advance in Glenside and price things out.. I'm good friends with the guy who runs that store
