First off this is my first post and I feel sort of lost in 3rd gen's.
I recently bought a 25th anniversary edition RS from one of my car connections with some sort of V6 in it (I belive it's a 3100) and 4 spd auto (think its a 700) but I bought it for 450, straight body, few dents, but the trick is that the engine and tranny have been out of the car for more than 3 years. I figured I would buy it and rebuild it cause I'm a very big cornering nut considering it has a v6 and it is a camaro, the reason I even posted here was because if this block and heads are good I was wanting some more jump out of it and I figured a good place to start would be the intake and exhaust, everyone knows the saying, faster in faster out, so what would the people on thirdgen recommend, I want the best of the best, no smog **** either I live in alabama no inspection or BS like that. I want top of the line or would yall recommend an edelbrock intake with straight pipes?
All answers appreciated!

A 25th anni for $450 is a hell of a deal, good find! yes it's a 3.1L V6 and a 700R4 transmission. Originally Posted by stoned_pimp420

Well if you want to make it FASTER, do the best thing you can do, and sell that 3.1L V6 and buy yourself a 350 core and build up from there. There are maybe 3 or 4 people on this site (out of literally thousands) with a V6 that are even in the 13s. One person is in the 12s, and it's all done with forced induction. These V6s are slow, no ifs, ands or buts about it. A 350 swap can be done for cheap (especially since there's no smog) and you can have a 300 hp motor for a thousand bucks in and running if you do the work yourself.
As far as handling goes, stock the IROC-Zs were some of the best handling cars EVER made, even nowadays. Just take a look on a few of the aftermarket sites for these cars (I'd recommend Spohn) for handling products, and you'll see just how good you can make these cars.
