how to tell if exhaust leak

how to tell if exhaust leak

i have installed hooker shorty headers and my own exhaust its makin a kinda clicking and puttin noise is that exhaust leak?i tightened my header bolts and i think it maybe coming from my pipes not sure. i have the headers running in to a 90 elbow to pipes and then my hurst glasspacks. i love the sound but not the leak... also when i get on it it pops after gettin off gas is that bad? thanks

That sounds like exhaust leaks.

Click, clack, etc. Are the gaskets on right?

For the backfire sound at gas off, it is because of the less restriction whit the headers on, It's normal, just be sure to not be two much lean!!!

yeah put em on right its not coming from headers its coming from the pipes but not sure where. would it leave a black residue if leaking from there?

Could try to feel for it, run it and go around the pipes feeling for air, hot air!

Check the ypipe connection.
