I want to get new exhaust system from the motor back, getting headers ypipe etc im a pritty un experienced person when it comes to this kind of stuff, but im also prity young. Give me your ideas i want my car to be able to run at a normal sound then with the flick of a swithc run straight pipes. What kind of parts am i looking for.
I would like the system to be really deep and gutsy rather than loud and raspy.
Brand names etc.
Thanks alot guys this site is a big Help

Shorty headers with 1-5/8" tubes (Hooker, Hedman, or SLP) with the matching Y-pipe, then a high-flow cat if you need one where you live, then a 3" catback for a 5.0/5.7 TPI car.
Performance wise, all the 3" catbacks are about the same. The only real difference is the way theu sound, but what sound you want is all personal preference. I REALLY like the Hooker Aerochamber catback that I have on my Camaro. Its not loud at idle and cruise RPM, probably quieter than most, but sounds great... and it REALLY sounds great at full throttle - Loud, deep, throaty and totally obnoxious
