thinkin about headers...

Axle/Gears: 1 legger 2.xx(needs upgrade)
thinkin about headers...

i am picking up a 350 tpi jasper engine this weekend... will be working on the swap in a couple weeks... was not sure if i wanted to put headers in.. (i dont know much about it) figured id ask and get some of your inputs.... does it really make much of a difference? besides takin a chunk of cash lol thanks

I can tell ya this, doing the headers now will be a lot better than trying to do them after the swap. If you're performance orientated, as I would assume any Fbody owner transplanting a 350 is, then you'd want them. They are easily worth the cost if you're doing the swap, its bolting on a good bit of horsepower for a relatively light cost.

FWIW, my 99 GrandAm 3400v6 picked up something around 20fwhp with headers, and they cost a lot more than SBC headers cost, and it was the best $ per hp mod I did with that car.

Plus, you'll get a lot of with new crate motor + manifolds...

im doin the swap from v6 - v8 so i obviously gotta tear out the old exhaust and go all brand new.... just wondering how much its gonna run me... and what i would need... i have read some of the kabillion posts and am starting to learn a little more i know that i would go with a flowmaster exhaust just cause thats my personal pref i have heard a great deal of different exhausts... just not sure on price and how much ill have to make sure i have aside for it

To provide you with an idea of cost:

Hooker 2055's (Jeg's 520-2055). Catco high-flow converter (Summit CTO-9118). Hooker catback (Summit HOK-16823HKR).

This is a direct fit system. IIRC, I spent around $700 a while back.
