i was wondering if an exhaust leak from the cat could cause the car to have a bad idle. i sometimes have to rev to keep the car on

Leak, probably not, but a clogged cat can give you the problems you describe, as well as bad IAC motor on that TBI unit.
well i have a magnaflow hi flow cat on there. my neighbor had to fab some pipe to make it fit. do you think that there may have been shoddy work done? i plan on getting a cat back in a month or so. so should i wait to fix it or do it as soon as possible
and also i have changed the iac unit.
