exhaust flames???
Im trying to install a flame kit on my car and it seems that everyone has it wired so it interrupts their ignition when they use it. What I am wondering is how to wire it seperately so I don't have to cut out my ignition when i want to shoot some flames. By the way...you should be able to get flames without running rich right?

you can run 12 volts to a coil and then from that coil go to a spark plug and light her up. you wont get any flames if your engine is running correctly, you have to add some fuel source in there to make it ignite, ive always dreamed about a propane bottle and a little gas line thats tied into the exhaust.

Thanks for the help Gramps
Anyone else hook up their kit so their car runs normal without using a different source to ignite it??? I thought that with no cat and a larger engine that there would be enough gas getting through to at least get little flames. I really don't want to blow myself, or my car up trying to install propane.

You need it to be running abnormally rich. Perhaps if you've got A LOT of cubes, ie, big block, and a giant cam, such that it's really lopey at idle, you might be able to do it. Otherwise you need a way to flip a switch to get it to run rich. Electronic q-jet and some creativity maybe.

The only way to get a good flame out of the pipe would be to interupt the igniton or an exteranl fuel source, thats the only way that i have seen it done. the reason why you wouldn't be able to do it without running rich is b/c engines are designed to burn all the fuel in the cylinder.
