true duals vs single3"
Simple question, im shure itsa matter of opinion, but what performs better with shorty headers a single 3" esxhaust or 2.5 true duals? I have a 3" singlesystem now custom made but its a pos. sounds OK but pipe is mashed in what better? PS i have a 35o outa a 72 camaro with intake cam, big carb accel ign etc etc.. I want a nice deep rumble like the old schol cars...

Re: true duals vs single3"
this is the way I see it..
a 3" single would probably give you more lowend.. a 2.5 truedual will give you more topend.. the 3" single has less cross-section area than a 2.5" dual so a 2.5" will flow more..
i never used shorties or a 3" single exhaust so i wouldnt know what works better.. but LT's and true 2.5" duals works for me.. even though a 3" true dual would be better for my combo..

Re: true duals vs single3"
single 3" will flow enough for max 450hp....dual 2.5" will flow max to 600hp roughly but a dual 3" will flow 600hp and beyond.
i got headman longtubes, 3" mandrel bent true duals with 3" xpipe and 3" force mufflers with turndowns before real axle and i can tell u that no single 3" has the tone/rumble of mine, never will i go with a single 3". just my taste tho. i also did it bc im building a 500hp 383 so its all ready
