installing headers and removing A.I.R. how long did it take you?

Well, after a while of having my Hooker 2460's in the corner of the garage, I finally sucked it up and bought the $230-2.5" y-pipe (which will go great with the rest of the 3" exhaust). I figured it would be cheaper than taking to a shop and having them fabricate a 3"y-pipe and installing the headers and removing A.I.R. So my question is, how long did it take you guys to install your headers and remove your A.I.R. system? I am doing this on my daily driver and I have 2 days to do it. I've heard it should take 1 regular day (or less). I wouldn't say I'm completely amateur, but I'm not pro. I'm pretty confident I could do it. I have all the tools, the only thing I don't have is the car lift (good 'ol floor jacks will have to do). I've read the post and all the "help me with headers" threads. How long did you guys take from start to finish? Is there anything I should be prepared for (removing the 20yr old rusted manifolds will be fun!) Any tips? Can I do this alone, or would a partner greatly help? Any input and experiences you guys have would be greatly appreciated.

I've put in headers but I left th AIR system intact, took me about 4 hours with my brother helping and air tools. Hardest part was getting the stock manifolds off. Then took it to the exhaust shop to fab a y pipe and hook everything up.

You always can use help a buddy can help you get the work done and your lady can hand you tools and make the beer runs.

Did you toss the old exhaust system and just drive it to the shop with open headers, or did you temporarily fab the old exhaust for the trip?

Open headers, it's the only way to go!

I got my Hookers on last Friday. Even on a lift the rear pass side bolt took a few hours to remove- took some persuasion... Worth it though.
